AV Transition Town Society invites the public to a "Battle of the Bottles" at the Farmers Market, May 26.   Be one of 100 people to take part in a blind taste test of city water vs. three top bottled brands.  You pick the winner!  Tasting starts at 9:00 a.m.  First 20 participants will receive a sustainable gift.

David Hughes Lecture

Looking for the scientific/mathematical reasons behind the urgency of addressing Peak Oil?

David Hughes is a former scientist with National Geological Survey of Canada and did major work on compiling coal and fossil fuel inventories for Canada.

He presented at Vancouver Island University in Nanaimo on January 25th, 2011.

The Alberni Environmental Coalition will host a screening of the award-winning film "Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Trying to Tell Us?"  on Thursday, March 22nd at 7 pm at North Island College.  AVTTS is supporting this important event, so the  AVTTS monthly film night, set for March 21st, will be  CANCELLED.  Watch for a return of our regular film night on April 18th.  See More
